I remember at East that some ladies from the NY/NJ region were marvelling at how cheap alcohol was in the south. What's the average price for not-completely-bottom-shelf alcohol up there, and for a 6/12 pack of something like shocktop or yuengling? I'm totally cool with loading the trunk up with alcohol if it means saving any amount of money.

Anywhere from seven to ten bucks per six pack for anything that's not a super cheap domestic beer. But it may be cheaper in NJ than in NY.
I plan to get some Brooklyn Brewery stuff because I miss it.

We might stop at that huge beer/alcohol warehouse that's in the Jacksonville town center and just load up there, since it's definitely cheaper than NY and any money we can save is good.

Prices are about the same in North Jersey as they are in New York City. It also depends on where you go - the bigger stores like Bottle King are cheaper (you can get a case of Yuengling for about $20) than some of the small, local liquor stores. You might as well stock up on booze beforehand though. Newark isn't exactly a town you want to go roaming around in.

$20 for a case of yuengling??? I am so sorry. Eh, I'm used to it. High cost of living around here and all that. $20 is the list price, but you can usually find a case of 24 on sale for around $16. Out of curiosity, how much is a case by you? I might have to get someone to take me to my some beers as well!! unless there is something walking distance. There's a Portuguese neighborhood right near our hotel that's got some great restaurants (from what my brother, who used to live in Newark, tells me). There's a liquor store right down Ferry Street that's within walking distance - Lisbon Wine and Liquors.

Out of curiosity, how much is a case by you? I usually can pick up a 24 box of Miller High Life which I put on par with Yuengling for $13.99. A 6 pack of Guinness tall cans is like $7/8. I think I picked up a box of 20 landshark bottles for like 14 or 15.
