My journey to FaberryCon features a road trip. A very long road trip.
I need to create the most perfect FaberryCon soundtrack to force upon the others in my car.
Ideas to include so far: Devil Went Down to Georgia, Bohemian Rhapsody (The the Queen version, sorry J Groff, to unite those in said car with what only Bohemian Rhapsody can do), You Give Love a Bad Name (to help us get psyched), Keep Holding On and IFP/U.
Ok, other ideas. Go!
Doesn't have to be Glee related, just awesome road trip songs and sing along songs and the like.

I want to say Georgia on My Mind, but I don't think that is good for the road trip kind of mood.

Even though I not only know the song, but have never liked it, I still clicked on the link. I am too trusting and I should know not to listen to rumors...
Overall, I find that song offensive to my Australian sensibilities.
Mainly because to me a thong is a flip flop, and contextually that song is not about footwear. Though, it was more entertaining if that is what you are assuming.

Akakak! The nature of rumors indeed requires a skeptical approach - but I stand by my suggestion! The Thong Song was a high school classic. Right up there with the Spice Girls and the Backstreet Boys. Perfect road trip music! The perfect soundtrack for making your steering wheel super uncomfortable as you casually pelvic thrust along to the beat! www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJLIiF15wjQwww.youtube.com/watch?v=4fndeDfaWCg#helpful #most helpful

I think in this scenario I'm the steering wheel, and when our paths cross, rumors, I shall greet you fondly as "the casual pelvis thruster" and we can stand there awkwardly or embrace like two kindred spirits separated by a sea of YouTube videos.
I lost my mind somewhere in that, but your suggestion of the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys is amazing, and I up your suggestion with, we should watch Spice World at the con in a Spice World kind of party.

You HAVE to have "Don't Rain on My Parade," obviously, but I also enjoy anything by Britney as road music. Eve 6's "Downtown" is good, too. And "How Soon is Now," but as covered by Love Spit Love. And "Sweet Disposition" by The Temper Trap.

"Carry On Wayward Son" by Kansas, "Come Sail Away" by STYX, "What Is Love" by Haddaway.

Come Sail Away is on my list of my to Canada playlist.
Clearly, a sign of a good winner.

Guys, guys. We can not, I repeat, CAN NOT have a road trip to FABERRY CON without listening to Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise by the Avett Brothers.

Ughhhh, Avett Brothers. On the plus side, it's the same sort of positive reinforcement as Elyse reblogging the post about Dolly defending Miley, re: my soft spot for bluegrass/gospel. But on the other hand, I cannot stand the Avett Brothers, Faberry fic reference or not. Gag me with a spoon. ((note, this is me being way overdramatic, I really don't mind them, it's just... the hipster bluegrass elitist in me feels like they're everything wrong with bluegrass/folk in this decade.)) Somewhat related, I've crafted an enormous roadtrip playlist that I need to narrow down considerably before I connect my iPod with my laptop. I am way too excited about all of this.

Additionally, excellent topic addition to the boards! I'ma be way too honest here for a second- Elyse, initially, when I was a little bit wary about everyone coming to Faberrycon, and not sure if I would get along with anyone, I was worried that you would be TOO outgoing for my little anxious self to handle. But the more I get to know you, the more I like. I can not WAIT to spend 10 hours round-trip with you on the road, and in our room.

I'm actually an introvert that uses loudness as a front to keep people away from me and to overcompensate for my social anxiety. Fun fact!
Thus, anxiety can be a topic of conversation!
The other thing we are looking into is a Scavenger Hunt type thing, we stole a list off the internet, we can add some more Faberry things, and when you spot them. You cross them off the list. Photos are hard in a moving car, so honour system.
There was also some talk of some cross car trash talk for the savanger hunt.
Xacto and I were talking about it. Texas vs Australia, Dreams vs Super. In the ultimate battle.
We'll work on some team names... Though the Dream Team and Super Team are pretty solid. Any other car poolers want in?
Also, when ever I read "Journey to FaberryCon" in my head is the chords before "A singer in a smokey room"
