Thank you, everyone, for helping us sort out our many catering options! I'm about to send it over to the hotel, and I want you to see it, too, so you can plan your weekend accordingly.
We followed these general parameters:
1) Use as many of your suggestions as possible! We went with "more things" instead of "bigger things," based on your feedback. (No Chocolate Waterfall, sorry y'all.)
2) Even though the vegetarians only make up 20% of our numbers, we tried to maintain a 3:1 ratio of vegetarian-friendly options. That is, 3 out of 4 items have no meat. But, we do have something with meat every day -- that's important, too.
3) Schedule food to arrive during short breaks between programming so you can load up a plate and bring it with you to the panel.
Please remember that these are just snacks to keep us going throughout the con! You'll be getting your own meals during breaks, as you like.
FRIDAY:
morning: Artisan Cheese Display
afternoon: Guacamole & Salsa, Stuff Your Potato, Mini Sliders
*Note: We scheduled the potatoes and sliders (our biggest items) for you to nom during the Crafts/Games Mixer!
SATURDAY:
morning: Artisan Cheese Display
afternoon: Guacamole & Salsa, Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Crab Cakes
SUNDAY:
morning: Artisan Cheese Display
afternoon: Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Vegetarian Spring Rolls, Teriyaki Beef Skewers
I will be making a separate thread about the Party Room, which will address things like beverages, desserts, booze, and breakfast, none of which are addressed here.
We only had a certain budget to work with, so we wanted to maximize value with it. In fact, we were able to go a bit over budget here, thanks to the generous donations from MisterMag00 and Ed1505! Thank you both so much!
