Let's see if I can make a coherent post through my tears and shock.
I feel very strongly about wanting the con to do something positive in Cory's memory. A donation, a project, something. My processing power is low at the moment, so please, help me brainstorm.
You can toss out ideas here. Thanks, y'all.

Agreed. Taking some time out to talk about him would be great but I really think there should be something bigger... Donations for a substance abuse program of the con's choosing? I could look into places

I agree with both ideas. It should be somewhat cathartic to be able to share our feelings and to honor Cory. He deserves that much. At this time we are one big Gleek family, and we are all grieving. I rely on the support and love of my Gleek family so much. I just can't stop sobbing... OMG, what a loss!

What about donating to the non-profit that Cory had a role in starting - Project Limelight Society? From THR ( www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/cory-monteith-death-how-glee-585237): How Cory Monteith Fans Can Pay Tribute to the 'Glee' StarGlee fans wishing to pay tribute to Cory Monteith can donate to the Project Limelight Society, an organization that the late actor played a role in launching. Monteith helped Maureen Webb, one of his early acting mentors, start up the nonprofit aid organization -- which offers free performing arts program for children from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside -- last year. On Thursday night, the actor had dinner at Vancouver’s East of Main Café with Webb, who herself was instrumental in launching Monteith's acting career. It was Webb who suggested that a then 19-year-old Monteith, whom she met through a mutual friend, pursue acting. In a promotional video for the launch of Project Limelight, Monteith admitted that as a teen he struggled to find a purpose in life. “I was fortunate to have the arts inspired me,” he says in the video. “If it weren’t for the teachers and actors who showed me, I would have never gotten into acting. I’d never have been able to find my way. I kind of wish this was around when I was a kid.” Monteith's reps said Sunday that donations can be made in his honor at Project Limelight's website (www.projectlimelightsociety.org) or via email at Project Limelight Society, 225 E. Georgia Street, Vancouver, B.C., V6A 1Z6.

I also hope to be able to offer to match a certain level of funding, personally.

Yeah, I really support the Project Limelight idea, as he was clearly passionate about it.
It also kind of does double duty as it also captures the essence of what Glee tries to do and represent, when it's being good, which is to support arts education for kids, which is really cool.
So, honoring all of that, on his behalf, feels right to me.

This is not my idea but I thought I'd share it anyway. Along with the donation which is an amazing idea. How about a dedication or a few words in the program as well. Just a thought.

I think we should sing Girls Just Wanna Have Fun or Stay Beautiful in memory of Cory when we do our Karaoke?

I think we should sing Girls Just Wanna Have Fun or Stay Beautiful in memory of Cory when we do our Karaoke? Only if there is also awkward giant dancing at the same time. Which is to say, I have that area covered.

I've decided that my framed Notes and Photos items (I have three of them) are going to be name your own price and half of whatever I make on them will go into the charity we've chosen in Cory's memory.
