Hey there, With the tragedy of the death of Cory happening weeks before the con, I would like to throw out a possible unofficial talk about addiction and any questions you may have about it. I talked to John and he was cool with it. While there is no official block of time I can use, I will take time during a Lunch or Dinner break for people who want to join me in this discussion.
Why am I doing this? I have lost an ex and a best friend to heroin. One died the other, I don't know where she is at this moment. It is a very difficult subject for me having dealt with someone you love lose themselves. There are many different opinions and views on addiction. And I would like to have a genuine discussion about it. We can all learn from each other.
I believe Cory was a good person who had a problem. He was open about the problem. I would rather remember him for who he was than what happened to him.
And I just feel it is right to have this addressed.
Is this of any interest to anyone? If not, I can scrap the idea.

I would be interested in attending this discussion. Clearly it's something people have a lot of thoughts and feelings about.

I'd be down for this. My father struggled with addiction for years and some of my family members are off right now doing lord knows what and so this is a pretty common and interesting discussion I often have with my mom. Hearing different views and helping others who might not understand would be pretty cool

I'm down.
I lost a dear fandom friend many years ago in a situation that is similar to what seems to have happened with Cory (rehab, then relapse).

I wouldn't mind joining. I've dealt with family members dealing with addictions too.
